Liverpool are front-runners to bring Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo to the Premier League this summer, should their 13m Euro deal for Roma forward Fabio Borini fall through.
The Reds are known to be in the market for a striker, and with reports suggesting Andy Carroll could be offloaded on loan, Negredo would fit the bill as his replacement.
Should the deal for Borini be completed, both Arsenal and Malaga are interested in the forward, report AS.
Liverpool’s move for Fabio Borini is almost complete, according to Sky Sport 24 in Italy.
Borini, who has previously spent time in the Premier League with Chelsea and Swansea City, is set to complete a 13m Euro move from AS Roma in the coming days.
Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has emerged as a suprise target for newly crowned Premier League champions Manchester City.
The Reds centre-back has been in talks with the Merseyside club over a renewal of his contract, and the player will now have the opportunity to decide whether he sees his long-term future at Anfield.
Man City are thought to be looking for depth for their defence, which this season has seen Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott impress.
The interest in Skrtel, reported in the Daily Post, will worry Reds fans who were disappointed with their eight place finish last season, and are looking for an increase of quality, rather than losing their best players.
