According to Tuttosport, Inter Milan have shortlisted two names for their backline. The Nerazzurri have lined up Matías Silvestre of Palermo and Alexis Rolin of Nacional.
Silvestre’s future has been a subject of speculation ever since he quoted in an interview with TMW saying “Next season I want to play for an ambitious club that takes part in European competition. I heard talk of many clubs interested in me and I am the right age to take that step up in quality. I want to do that from next year.”. A host of clubs like AS Roma, Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur, Zenit St. Petersburg have already been linked with a move for him. But if reports are to be believed, Inter and Tottenham are leading the race for his signature at the moment. The London club is believed to have kept Silvestre as an backup plan if their move for Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen fails to materialize. Inter though, are in desperate need of reinforcement following their hugely disappointing season.
The other defender who has been linked with a move to San Siro is Alexis Rolin. Both Genoa and Inter had sent scout this weekend to watch the center back in action against Wanderers. Having lifted the Apertura title in December 2011, Rolin has already made his mark. It is yet to be seen which Serie A club wins the race for his signature.
France’s powerhouse defensive midfielder, Yann M’Vila has today had all talks of a transfer away from Rennes put on hold after the club told those interested ‘Wait until after Euro 2012’. The Metro are claiming that this next step in M’Vila’s transfer saga is due to the club believing that more of Europe’s elite will be interested in him after he showcases his talents in the championships.
This is sure to put a spanner in Arsene Wenger’s transfer plans as he was looking to finalize a deal for the French player before the tournament. Last summer his attempts were thwarted by Rennes wanting £25 million, whereas now it is thought they would accept a bid of around £15 million. Inter Milan are amongst other clubs vying for M’Vila’s signature.
A transfer rumour that has certainly come out of left-field is that Wolverhampton Wanderers influential midfielder Matt Jarvis is wanted by Champions League side Udinese.
New Wolves manager Stale Solbakken faces a task to keep hold of his better players and The Mirror are reporting that the Italian side have sounded out Jarvis as a potential transfer target and could well move this summer as he contemplates playing in the Championship after a spell in England’s top flight.
Jarvis would only be the third English player in the last 10 years to make the move to the move to Italy after David Beckham and Jay Bothroyd played for AC Milan and Perugia respectively .
