German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly planning a raid on several of their league rivals, with newspaper Bild claiming that Kai Havertz (Leverkusen), Kevin Vogt (Hoffenheim) and Luka Jovic (Eintracht) are all on the Bavarians’ shopping list.
Bayern have endured a tough start to the season under Niko Kovac and are already seven points behind Borussia Dortmund after last weekend’s Klassiker defeat.
Havertz started for Germany last night against Russia and provided an inch perfect pass to set up Serge Gnabry for Die Mannschaft’s third. He’s only 19 and there were definitely signs in Leipzig that he could take over the playmaking mantle from the retired Mesut Ozil for the national side.
Another player, albeit not a local one, that the Bavarians have been linked to is Aaron Ramsey. Some papers, like the Independent, reckon that deal is as good as done while others are maintaining a wait and watch stance.
Young Serb Luka Jovic has been a sensation at Frankfurt and at 20, is one for the future like Havertz.
What this means for the future of the likes of Arjen Robben, Rafinha and James Rodriguez at the Allianz Arena is unclear. The trio’s contracts end in 2019 and Bild suggests that Bayern are not expected to offer them new deals.
