Wellington Silva, the Brazilian forward Arsenal signed from Fluminense way back in 2011, will finally get to represent the Gunners four years after signing for the North London club. The youngster, born in 1993, originally signed for the Gunners in 2009, but the transfer was delayed to 2011 owing to his young age.
At the time of his signing, Wellington was unable to get a work permit, and was farmed out to various Spanish clubs on loan. He is currently at Almeria, and has previously had loan spells at Levante, Alcoyano, Murcia and Ponferradina.
Wellington tweeted of his delight at getting a new Spanish passport, which makes him eligible to play for the Gunners in the forthcoming 2015/16 season without having to go through the hassles of a work permit
