Tottenham could finally get their man this week as the deal for Jan Vertonghen looks set to go through. The Daily Mail are reporting that after hard negotiations Ajax have agreed to lower their valuation of €15 million, a fee Spurs refused to pay for a player with just one year left on his contract.
The Belgian had a strong campaign last time out, winning the Eredivise player of the year after making 31 league appearance and scoring an impressive 8 goals. Making way for the newcomer seems to be Niko Kranjcar. Reports suggest that he is on his way to Dynamo Kiev for an undisclosed fee, after failing to make an impact on the Tottenham first team last season, playing only 10 league games and scoring once.
