The Guardian has today reported that Adebayor is in talks with Tottenham and Man City to make a permanent switch to the London club, following his loan there last season. It is no secret that Adebayor does not feature in Mancini’s plans, and so the striker is looking to move after impressing Harry Redknapp. The striker could provide a long term solution to the problem of finding a top quality striker to allow Tottenham to compete with the elite clubs.
The only stumbling block in the deal will be Adebayor’s wage demands. He is rumoured to be collecting around £175,000 a week, and this is beyond any of Tottenham Hotspurs’ top earners, and with a strict budget being enforced at Spurs it is unlikely that they will be willing to meet this current contract.
