Kuyt seeks pastures new

Dutch international Dirk Kuyt has today been quoted in The Daily Mirror as saying that his future does not lie at his former side Feyenoord, but he is looking at other top European clubs. This comes after a season in which the Liverpool attacker only contributed 5 goals and featured 35 times in all competitions for the Merseyside team, a large cut down on his previous five seasons.

It is unclear who the other clubs that are interested in the 32-year-old are, however he suggests the interest is coming from England, Germany, Spain and Italy. Kuyt is no stranger to transfer speculation, last year he was linked with a big money move to Serie A side Inter Milan, but that failed move to materialize.

United interest in Kagawa confirmed by Japan ace

Shinji Kagawa has confirmed he has held talks with Manchester United in the UK this week after speculation intensified last week.
Sir Alex Ferguson was in attendance at the German cup final between Bayern Munich and Kagawa’s Borussia Dortmund. Kagawa was a goal scorer in a 5-2 victory for Dortmund to top off an impressive campaign for the German champions.
According to reports, notably the Daily Telegraph, Kagawa has confirmed he has met with the Red Devils supremo: ‘It was good that I was able to meet him in person and talk, I want to think hard before making my decision’.
Dortmund chief Jurgen Klopp has apparently come to terms that, with 12 months of his contract remaining, it may be difficult to convince the 23 year old Japanese international his career would be best served with the Bundesliga club.
Kagawa has been selected for international duty when Japan take on Azerbaijan later this month.
